These classic fireplace designs need a fireplace screen in case of embers or sparks flying off the logs. The screen keeps the sparks and embers away from any flammable rugs or carpets that may be located near the fireplace.
Whatever type of fireplace design you might choose for your home, it is better to make sure that it fits the theme of your house. A modern design will not go well with an older house. Usually, older homes have classic fireplaces that are made of brick or concrete and made with burning logs in mind. The warmth generated by a fireplace can easily envelope an entire room.
